Course Description: Students will explore the government of the United States from its beginning to the present. Emphasis will be placed on the Biblical pattern for government and on the United States Constitution. We will learn about the operations of federal, state, and local government, and about issues we face today. Students will be provided with a deeper ability to understand, pray for, and be involved in our country’s government. Students will learn basic economic vocabulary while gaining an understanding of how society uses its resources to satisfy its wants and needs. Students will be equipped with personal and general financial skills. They will become a better steward of the money God provides and a valuable, informed contributor to society on many levels. We will use an eclectic combination of materials for the economics portion of the class.

Tuition and Fees:
Administrative Fee: $50 per student enrolled in the program, due at the time of registration, refundable through 6/30/22, payable to Grace Presbyterian Church, PCA.
Registration Fee: $25 nonrefundable payable to Stacey Holland
Tuition: $185 per semester payable to Stacey Holland
Facility Fee: The annual facility fee for this class is $30 per student, not to exceed $180 per family. This fee is payable to Grace Presbyterian Church, PCA, on the first day of class.
Instructor: Mrs. Stacey Holland graduated from The University of Montevallo in 1993, with a B.S. in Speech and Language Pathology. She practiced in home health for a year and then moved out of state upon marrying Jay Holland. They have been married for 24 years. In 1999 she received a Masters of Elementary Education from The University of Montevallo. Stacey taught K4 for three years at Hoover Church of Christ Day School. She and Jay have four children ranging in ages from 21-13. Their oldest has High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder which led her to begin homeschooling. She has homeschooled for nine years. This will be her sixth year teaching at Chelsea Tutorials.
